September Week 4, Year 5

Raw
Match 1. Matt Hardy vs. David Otunga
During the match, this Superstar ran down and laid out Matt with his quickness. He then hit a 450 splash before Otunga got the win.

Match 2. Triple H vs. Big Show
Triple H landed a hard clothesline and a neck breaker. Show connected with a spear and Showstopper. Triple H kicked out, but received a knockout punch for his troubles. Big Show pinned one-half of the tag champs.

Match 3. Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus vs. Chris Jericho   #1 Contender's match
The winner will most likely face Regal for the IC title. Jericho and Barrett hit Sheamus with a double gut buster. Sheamus hit Barrett with a super side slam and then landed the Irish Curse on Jericho. He then connected with the Celtic Cross. Sheamus and Barrett hit Jericho with a double gut buster. Outside the ring, Sheamus landed an overhead belly-to-belly on Jericho and won.

Match 4. Kane vs. Batista

Main Event. Rey Mysterio vs. Edge
Rey had Edge in the corner and connected with two different dropkicks. Edge landed the Edge-O-Matic, but Rey got right up and busted Edge open with a flying head scissors. Edge hit a flapjack and a top-rope spear. Rey somehow kicked out. He tossed Edge into the ropes and hit the 619 and West Coast Pop to win.

After the match, Edge shook Rey's hand and walked away.

SmackDown
Match 1. Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger vs. Kurt Angle
I loved this match when I first saw it booked. Three tremendous athletes. Swagger and Angle hit Ziggler with a double gut buster. Ziggler and Swagger then hit Angle with a double leg sweep. Swagger turned on Ziggler and hit him with the gutwrench powerbomb. Angle hit Ziggler with an Angle Slam and won.

Match 2. MVP vs. Kofi Kingston

Match 3. R-Truth vs. JBL

Match 4. Epico and Primo vs. The Miz and John Morrison   #1 Contender's match
A new, up-and-coming team getting a title shot. Doesn't happen very often. Morrison hit Primo with a back breaker leg sweep combo before landed the Moonlight Drive. Morrison continued the attack with a second back breaker and running boot. Epico and Miz did a little battling in the ring. Miz tagged in Morrison, who landed a missile dropkick before getting the three count.

Main Event. Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton
Can Orton defeat the champion before the pay-per-view? Henry made sure he didn't as he hit Orton with brass knuckles behind the ref's back. Orton recovered and landed a back breaker and RKO, but Henry kicked out. Henry landed a military press slam and World's Strongest Slam for the win.

Recap: Sheamus will get an IC title shot. Good show of respect between Edge and Rey. The next PPV should be great.
