NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS, Year 5

All the titles will be on the line.

Match 1. DX vs. Heath Slater and David Otunga   World Tag Team Championship
It's weird seeing Michaels and Triple H kick off the show. What did Otunga and Slater do to earn a title shot? Triple H hit Slater with a piledriver on the outside. Slater shook it off and hit Michaels with a float-over DDT. Michaels blocked Otunga's attempt at a finisher and hit Slater with Sweet Chin Music to retain.

Match 2. MVP vs. Christian   WWE United States Championship
Christian landed a running heel kick. He then ran toward MVP again, but he countered it into a knee smash. Christian hit a corner kick, then a frog splash. MVP kicked out at two. Christian then focused on the neck with a couple of neck breakers. He hit the Killswitch and won.

Match 3. Boom Truth vs. Miz and Morrison   WWE Tag Team Championship
Kofi and Truth wore down Morrison. Truth hit him with a Lie Detector on the outside. Miz and Morrison hit Kofi with a double suplex. Morrison then landed a neck breaker. Kofi kicked out of a pin after a back breaker and hit Trouble in Paradise. Kofi then hit the Boom Drop and won.

Match 4. William Regal vs. Sheamus   WWE Intercontinental Championship
Sheamus landed a running ax handle. Regal hit a tiger suplex. He then put Sheamus on the top rope. Sheamus countered and landed a diving clothesline. He then hit an Irish Curse and Brogue Kick. Regal kicked out. About two minutes later, he hit a second Irish Curse and Celtic Cross to win the title.

Match 5. Edge, Big Show and Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger and Kurt Angle
Jericho hit Ziggler with a clothesline. They then got into a pinning battle. Ziggler won with a backslide pin in 1:10. Very disappointing.

Match 6. Mark Henry vs. Orton vs. Punk vs. Hardy vs. Del Rio   World Heavyweight Championship
Henry won the title in a scramble match. Could he lose it the same way? The first two Superstars were Jeff Hardy and CM Punk. Jeff landed a Frankensteiner on Punk. Jeff busted Punk open with a tornado DDT. The first one to enter the ring was Alberto Del Rio. He and Punk took turns beating on Jeff. Del Rio connected with a corner heel kick. Punk and Jeff hit Del Rio with multiple kicks, but that alliance didn't last long. The next man to enter the match was the champ, Mark Henry. He focused on Del Rio as he landed a huge side belly-to-belly suplex. Punk caught Jeff in a cradle and got a long two count. Del Rio became champ when he pinned Jeff after a suplex.

All four men left the ring and fought near the announce table. Punk hit Jeff with a GTS the same time Del Rio locked Henry in a cross arm breaker. Punk caught Jeff with another cradle and got the three count. Punk's the new champ, for now. Randy Orton finally entered. He has the biggest advantage. Orton hit Punk with a back suplex on the steel steps. Del Rio hit Henry with a superplex. Hardy blocked Henry's attempt at the World's Strongest Slam. Henry won back the title by pinning Del Rio after a tilt-a-whirl slam. Two minutes left. Jeff hit Henry with the Twist of Fate, but got a two count. Orton hit Punk with an RKO, but Del Rio broke up the pin. Orton landed a snap slam on Jeff and got the three count. 18 seconds left. Orton wins!

Main Event. Steel Cage - John Cena vs. Batista   WWE Championship
Batista caught a charging Cena with a spinning side slam. He landed a second one not much later. Batista connected with a huge spine buster. He then landed the AA on Cena. Cena came back and almost escaped, but Batista caught him. Cena popped up, hit the AA and escaped to retain the title.

Recap: I was pissed that the six-man tag didn't last long. It was actually shorter, but I restarted it. The two tag title matches were great. Greatest scramble match.
