SUMMERSLAM, Year 5

This event is huge. A lot of star power and a lot of stipulations.

Match 1. Submission - MVP vs. Bobby Lashley   WWE United States Championship
This was a great opening match. Lashley was bleeding from a DDT. He lifted MVP up and landed a torture rack slam. He then hit a running powerslam. He tried to make MVP tap with an inverted crossface, but he kept breaking out. MVP hit the Playmaker and made Lashley tap from a camel clutch.

Match 2. Randy Orton vs. RVD vs. William Regal   WWE Intercontinental Championship
Regal brought in a chair then hit Orton with the Power of the Punch. After a back suplex, Orton busted RVD open with a foot stomp. RVD hit Regal with a monkey flip, springboard body splash and the Rolling Thunder in quick succession. Orton superplexed RVD from the top to the outside. Regal hit RVD with a running knee and got the win.

Match 3. Interpromotional - Big Show vs. Sheamus
Sheamus was able to lift the big man up for the Celtic Cross. Sheamus continued with huge right hands and a gutwrench powerbomb. Much later, Show landed a fall away slam. Sheamus blocked a punch and hit a second Celtic Cross. Sheamus locked Show in a rear naked choke and won.

Match 4. The Rock vs. Kurt Angle
This match belonged to the Olympic Gold Medalist. Angle broke out of a camel clutch and hit the Angle Slam. He then hit the triple German suplexes. Angle immediately hit a second Angle Slam and won.

Match 5. The Hardys vs. DX   World Tag Team Championship
Triple H hit Jeff with a DDT and a spine buster. Jeff missed a springboard moonsault, which allowed Triple H tag in Michaels. The Hardys hit Michaels with a double suplex. Michaels came back with two DDTs. Michaels tagged Triple H back in, who hit the Pedigree to win.

Match 6. Chris Jericho vs. John Cena vs. Batista   WWE Championship
Batista and Jericho hit Cena with a double gut buster. Jericho quickly turned on Batista with a northern lights suplex. Batista took Cena to the outside and speared him through the barricade. Batista and Cena kept fighting on the outside while Jericho just stood in the ring. Cena caught Batista with the AA and won the WWE title.

Main Event. Scramble - Edge vs. Henry vs. ??? vs. JBL vs. Mysterio   World Heavyweight Championship
The first two Superstars were Rey and Henry. Henry landed a huge superplex and then locked in a rear naked choke. Henry left the ring and took apart the announce table. Rey followed and put Henry on the table. He then climbed the ropes and landed a huge moonsault. They both got one counts before Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam. Rey hit the 619 and West Coast Pop, but didn't go for a pin.

The first man to enter was the champ, Edge. He stood by and watched Henry beat down Rey. Edge kept breaking up Henry's pin attempts, then leaving the ring. The second man to enter was JBL. He went right after the champ and took him to the outside. Henry pinned Rey after a WSS. JBL caught Edge with a powerbomb, but just stood there after.

The final participant was...CM Punk?! What is he doing in this match? He's the freshest man. Can he win the title? Edge hit JBL with a spear and a big boot. Rey planted Edge on his head with a reverse hurricanrana. With 20 seconds left, JBL landed a superplex on Punk, but no pin attempt. Mark Henry became the new champion!

Recap: Regal picked up a huge win. Well deserved. DX are now tag champs for the first time. Cena is the new WWE champ. Mark Henry, the World's Strongest Man, is now the world champ. Watch out. What a PPV.
