August Week 1, Year 5

Raw

Match 1. CM Punk vs. Mr. Kennedy

Match 2. RVD vs. Big Show

Match 3. The Hardys vs. Triple H and Shawn Michaels

Triple H and Michaels hit Jeff with a tag move. Triple H then speared Jeff through the barricade. Triple H continued with a DDT on the outside. Back in the ring, Jeff tagged in Matt, who hit a cross body. Triple H shook it off and hit Matt with the Pedigree to win.

After the match, Carlito and Chris Masters came out and stared down Triple H.

Match 4. Randy Orton vs. Umaga

After a Lou Thesz Press, Orton landed a back breaker. Umaga broke out of a single-leg Boston Crab, but Orton hit another back breaker. Umaga kicked out and connected with the Samoan Spike. Orton kicked out of a pin and hit the RKO to win.

Main Event. Kane vs. Batista

Kane was in the ring, waiting for Batista. Batista attacked Kane from behind. Batista landed the Batista Bomb fairly early, but Kane kicked out. Kane tossed Batista into the ropes and picked him up for the Tombstone. Batista landed a suplex, spear and spine buster. Kane countered the Batista Bomb attempt and hit the chokeslam to win.

After the match, Edge ran down with his briefcase and cashed in his title shot. While Kane was getting up, he connected with the spear and won. Edge is the new World champ!

SmackDown

Match 1. Rey Mysterio vs. JBL

Match 2. Shelton Benjamin vs. MVP

Match 3. Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston

Kofi and Truth took their turns wearing down Ziggler. Kofi landed a hurricane and a crucifix. Swagger caught Kofi with a release German suplex. He then tossed Kofi into the corner before rolling him up for the win.

Match 4. Edge vs. Sheamus

Sheamus was walking to the ring when Big Show attacked him from behind. Sheamus caught Edge with the Celtic Cross. Edge kicked out, but Sheamus kept on going. A few minutes later, Sheamus hit a second Celtic Cross and won.

Main Event. Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho

Jericho attacked Taker from behind in the ring. Taker landed a leg drop and a chokeslam. He then hit the Tombstone, but Jericho wouldn't stay down. Jericho hit a nice suplex, but Taker came back with a sidewalk slam. Jericho got up and hit the Codebreaker for the win.

After the match, Jericho hit Taker a few times with a chair.

Recap: Edge stole the World title from Raw. SmackDown now has both the WWE and World titles.
