WRESTLEMANIA, Year 1

Road Dogg is not challenging for the WWF Championship. There was a pre-show battle royal to determine Kurt Angle's opponent.

Pre-Show. Bret Hart vs. Mankind vs. Stone Cold vs. The Rock vs. Kane vs. Chris Jericho
Kane/Mankind, Bret/Jericho and Austin/Rock were how the Superstars paired off when the match began. Kane had Mankind against the ropes multiple times. Kane almost eliminated Rock, but he held on. Kane then kicked him off the apron. Bret eliminated Mankind. Austin tossed out Jericho. Bret clotheslined Kane out of the ring. Austin wasted little time as he flipped Bret over the top to win.

Match 1. Test vs. Ken Shamrock   WWF Intercontinental Championship
Shamrock was running towards Test, but he reversed it into a snap slam. Test then went for a clothesline, but Shamrock ducked and hit a release German suplex. After putting Shamrock through the table, he lifted Ken up for a torture rack. Shamrock was bleeding when he locked Test in a sleeper hold. Test then hit a full nelson slam to retain.

Match 2. Triple H and Undertaker vs. Edge and Christian   WWF Tag Team Championship
This was a brutal match. Christian and Undertaker kicked things off. Taker and Triple H hit Edge with a double back body drop. After an armbar, Triple H hit the spine buster. Taker went for the Tombstone to Edge on the outside, but he reversed it. The steps somehow made it into the ring. Triple H made the hot tag to Taker, who took out both men. He then hit Christian with a chokeslam to win.

Match 3. Jeff Hardy vs. D-Von Dudley
This match is here to calm the crowd down. Bubba Ray walked down with a chair. Christian followed him right after. Christian didn't do much, but Bubba speared Jeff through the barricade. Jeff came back and busted D-Von open with some kicks. Back outside the ring, Jeff hit a Twist of Fate and won after a shoulder tackle.

Match 4. Val Venis vs. Goldust   WWF European Championship
Val busted Goldust open with a DDT after he connected with a jaw breaker. Venis continued with a couple of modified suplexes. Goldust then busted Val open by smashing his head into the steel post. Val got back in and hit the Big Package suplex. Goldust kicked out and Val hit the Money Shot to retain the title.

Match 5. Rock n Sock Connection vs. New Age Outlaws
Mankind was taking care of Road Dogg with a bulldog and Russian leg sweep. Road Dogg recovered and tagged in Billy Gunn. Dogg tossed Gunn on top of Mankind. Big Show walked down and hit Gunn with a Showstopper. He then hit one to Road Dogg on the outside. Rock then hit Gunn with The One and Only slam to win.

Match 6. Stephanie McMahon vs. Lita   WWF Women's Championship
This is the fourth title match. Will this be the first to change hands? The two women fought on the outside. Stephanie landed a huge hip toss, which sent Lita crashing through the announce table. Lita somehow got up and hit the Twist of Fate. A minute later, Stephanie landed the Pedigree. Lita used both sets of stairs as she hit a powerbomb and a northern light suplex. She then hit a headbutt and won.

Main Event. Kurt Angle vs. Stone Cold   WWF Championship
Austin hit some right hands and a piledriver. The match ended up on the outside where Angle speared Austin through the barricade. Both men were bleeding when they got back in the ring. After getting a two count, Angle hit the Angle Slam and won.

Recap: What does Big Show have against the Outlaws? The Women's title was the only title to change hands at the PPV. Angle is a beast. Who is left for him to beat? Overall, great PPV. I loved the pre-show idea and it led to a good main event. Year 1 is done. Let's see what I have in store for Year 2.
