January Week 3, Year 1

Raw
Match 1. Test vs. Val Venis
Val took down Test with a suplex. He then slammed his knee into the mat. Val locked Test in a camel clutch and won.

Match 2. Stone Cold vs. Mr. McMahon
This is the first confrontation between these two. I wonder if anyone will interfere. Farooq came down and sat next to the announcers. Austin and Farooq locked eyes, but nothing happened. Vince speared Austin through the barricade and then hit the McStunner. Austin attempted a comeback and he landed some moves, but in the end, Vince hit another Stunner to win.

Match 3. Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle
Angle ran down and hit Jericho with a Lou Thesz Press before the bell rang. Angle quickly landed three German suplexes. After kicking out, Jericho received an Angle Slam. They later got into a pinning battle with many near falls. Angle landed another three German suplexes and won.

Match 4. Shawn Michaels vs. Big Boss Man
Boss Man hit Michaels with a suplex and then choked him in the corner. After a headbutt, Boss Man hit Michaels with a Russian leg sweep to win. Very quick match.

After the match, Boss Man was about to leave, but he turned around and stomped on HBK.

Main Event. Edge and Christian vs. The Rock and Mankind   #1 Contender's Match
The match went a little over 13 minutes. Edge hit Mankind with a Downward Spiral. Rock came in and hit Edge with a Samoan drop. Edge got up and hit a flapjack and Downward Spiral. Christian took his turn at Rock with an Unprettier. After a northern lights suplex, Edge hit another DS on Rock to win.

Saturday Night Heat
Match 1. Grand Master Sexay vs. Brian Pillman
Pillman broke out of a camel clutch and busted GMS open with a headbutt. Pillman then went for a springboard ax handle, but GMS moved away and hit a super kick. On the outside, Pillman hit a neck breaker. He went for a clothesline, but GMS caught him in a roll-up and won.

Match 2. Chainsaw Charlie vs. D-Von Dudley
Charlie threw D-Von into the corner and then dropped an elbow to the back of his head. He continued his offense with a headbutt and a back body drop. They went to the outside where Charlie was leaning against the rail. D-Von hit a headbutt and won.

Match 3. Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Bubba Ray Dudley
Bubba headbutted Scotty and then hit a fall away slam outside of the ring. He picked him back up and hit the Bubba Cutter. Scotty kicked out and made it back into the ring. Bubba low blowed him and hit another fall away slam. He then connected with a huge uppercut and won.

Match 4. Mankind and Jeff Hardy vs. Edge and Viscera
Very weird match. Jeff and Mankind were walking to the ring when Bubba attacked Jeff and Undertaker attacked Mankind from behind. Jeff connected with Whisper in the Wind on Edge. Edge kicked out and then received a Twist of Fate. Edge still kicked out and tagged in Viscera. He hit Jeff with a huge front slam. Jeff got up and caught Viscera in a roll-up and won.

After the match, Bubba Ray and Taker were back as they attacked Jeff and Mankind.

Main Event. Bret Hart vs. Triple H
About eight minutes into the match, Bret speared Triple H through the barricade and got a two count. Triple H came back and hit the Pedigree in the middle of the ring. Bret kicked out and landed a piledriver. He then locked Triple H in the Sharpshooter. After a bulldog, Bret got the win.

After the match as Bret was leaving, Shawn Michaels walked down and stomped on Triple H. Bret turned around and saved The Game.

Recap: Heat is just dragging on for me. These matches mean nothing. Even though they take 5-7 at most, they feel like 10-12.
