April Week 1, Year 6

Another year of Universe is upon us. The draft takes place this week, like usual. There are four draft matches on Raw and four on SmackDown.

Raw
Match 1. Draft Match - Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio
Alberto used his lucha libre style to wear down Kane. He landed some kicks to the thighs and a hurricanrana to take the big man down. Del Rio locked in the cross arm breaker, but Kane powered out. He landed a sidewalk slam. Alberto tried again, but Kane escaped. Kane landed a chokeslam and Tombstone to win.

Raw's first pick: Rey Mysterio

Match 2Draft Match - Big Show vs. Edge
Can Edge defeat the World's Largest Athlete to give SmackDown a pick? Edge kicked Show in the gut and landed a swinging neck breaker. Edge locked in a camel clutch, but Show easily broke free. Edge attempted for a super back suplex, but Show countered it and landed a top-rope spear. Edge connected with the spear, but only got a one count. Show hit Edge with a headbutt, busting him open in the process, before getting the three count.

Raw's second pick: Christian

Match 3. Chris Jericho vs. Wade Barrett

Match 4Draft Match - Ryback vs. CM Punk
Ryback landed a huge clothesline and big boot early. Ryback hit a tilt-a-whirl slam and back suplex. Punk hit a snap neck breaker and northern lights suplex. After a shoulder tackle, Punk connected with a superplex. He did it again seconds later. After breaking out of a camel clutch, Ryback hit Shell Shock to win.

Raw's third pick: Dolph Ziggler

Main EventDraft Match - Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
This is champ vs. champ. Orton focused on the left arm of Lesnar. Lesnar shook off a clothesline and hit two belly-to-belly suplexes. Orton tossed Lesnar into the ropes and hit a Lou Thesz Press. Orton caught Lesnar with a school boy and almost won. Orton busted Lesnar open with right hands. Orton hit his back breaker and the RKO to win.

SmackDown's first pick: Triple H

SmackDown
Match 1. Draft Match - Kane vs. Kofi Kingston
It worked once already, why change it up? Kofi ran at Kane, but he countered into a tilt-a-whirl slam. Kofi went for multiple punches, but Kane shoved him away. Kofi hit the Boom Drop and Trouble in Paradise, but Kane kicked out at one. Kane hit another side slam. Kofi hit a second Boom Drop and a second Trouble in Paradise to win.

SmackDown's second pick: Wade Barrett

Match 2Draft Match - Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio
Raw sent its biggest to SmackDown to secure more picks. Show landed a pump handle drop and locked in an STF. Del Rio focused on the left arm of Show with a couple of different arm bars. He locked in the cross arm breaker, but Show broke free. Show blocked a kick and hit the Showstopper and won.

Raw's fourth pick: Edge

Match 3. Triple H vs. Mark Henry

Match 4Draft Match - Dolph Ziggler vs. CM Punk
The newest addition to Raw has to prove himself tonight. Punk landed a couple of DDTs and a suplex. He then jumped from the second rope and caught Ziggler with a neck breaker. After a German suplex, Punk hit the running knee and bulldog combo. Punk hit the GTS, but got a one count. Punk hit a few tornado DDTs and another GTS to win.

SmackDown's third pick: Sheamus

Main EventDraft Match - Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
Will Orton make it 2-for-2 against Lesnar? Lesnar hit Orton with a super tiger suplex. Orton tossed Lesnar into the ropes and hit the Lou Thesz. He then hit a back suplex. Lesnar lifted Orton up and had him in a torture rack. Lesnar went for the F5, but Orton countered. After a couple of near falls, Orton hit the RKO for the win.

SmackDown's fourth pick: The Rock

Recap: Raw definitely unleashed its big guns on Monday, Kane, Big Show, Ryback and Lesnar. Tough for anyone to beat.

Results: To Raw - Rey Mysterio, Christian, Dolph Ziggler and Edge
            To SmackDown - Triple H, Wade Barrett, Sheamus and The Rock
