ROYAL RUMBLE, Year 6


Match 1. Kofi Kingston vs. Dean Ambrose   WWE United States Championship
Ambrose landed two clotheslines and a DDT at the beginning of the match. He then landed a huge spine buster. A little later, he hit two back body drops before hitting the sit-out powerbomb. Ambrose hit the Death Valley Driver, but Kofi kicked out. He hit two diving clotheslines. Ambrose hit a second Death Valley Driver and won the title.

Match 2. The Shield vs. The Real Americans   WWE Tag Team Championship
Can Ambrose's teammates retain their titles? This was a really good tag match. Swagger and Cesaro hit Reigns with a double back body drop. Reigns DDT'd Cesaro through the announce table. Later, Cesaro landed the Neutralizer on Rollins. The Shield landed a double hip toss on Cesaro. Reigns then hit the spear to win.

Match 3. RVD vs. Alberto Del Rio
RVD tossed Del Rio into the ropes. He then drove his forearm into Del Rio's back. Del Rio had RVD in the corner and landed multiple shoulder blocks. He then connected with a standing heel kick. Del Rio took RVD down with a drop toe hold and then locked in the cross arm breaker to win.

Match 4. The Miz vs. Christian   WWE Intercontinental Championship
Christian landed a reverse DDT and a single flapjack. Miz had Christian in a Boston Crab, but Christian broke free. Christian went for a slam, but Miz reversed it into an STO. Christian landed the Killswitch and almost won, but Miz kicked out at two. Miz then landed a snap DDT to retain the title.

Match 5. Damien Sandow vs. Randy Orton vs. Big Show   World Heavyweight Championship
Will Sandow be successful in his first title defense? Will Cody Rhodes get involved? This was a one-on-one match, but Big Show cashed in his briefcase. Orton busted Sandow open early with a Lou Thesz Press. Show placed Sandow on the announce table and Orton hit him with the RKO. Show then hit Sandow with the Showstopper. Show later hit the Final Cut and a torture rack slam to win.

Match 6. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan   WWE Championship
Daniel Bryan gets his first shot at the top prize. He broke free of a single leg lock and landed a nice hip toss. Cena connected with the AA, but Bryan kicked out at one. Bryan hit a running forearm and a kick to the back. Cena busted Bryan open with a Lou Thesz Press. Cena then hit a second AA to retain his title.

Main Event. 30-Man Royal Rumble
You know the deal. The first two were Cody Rhodes and Rey Mysterio. Each man landed a nice Russian leg sweep. Sheamus was No. 3. Sheamus hit Rey with a huge headbutt. R-Truth was No. 4 and went right after Sheamus. No. 5 was Booker T! The first surprise entrant in the rumble. JBL was No. 6. The second surprise of the match. Booker and JBL fought in the corner, trying to eliminate the other. Sheamus eliminated Rey. Goldust was No. 7. All my surprises are coming out back-to-back. Goldust went right after his brother. Booker eliminated JBL. Big E. Langston was No. 8. Booker kicked Cody out of the ring. Langston drove Booker down with an STO. No. 9 was Dean Ambrose. Goldust tossed Sheamus out. Langston clotheslined Booker over the top. Seth Rollins was No. 10 and not a moment too soon. Ambrose could use the help. Rollins hit Truth with two back suplexes and a German suplex. Goldust clotheslined Rollins over top.

Roman Reigns was No. 11. He landed a big boot on Goldust. No. 12 was Ryback. He hit Truth with a spinning side slam and eliminated him. Reigns tossed Goldust out. Good showing from The Bizarre One. Fandango was No. 13. Ryback eliminated Langston. Ryback immediately clotheslined him out of the ring. No. 14 was Christian. He attacked Ambrose. The Miz was No. 15. Miz and Christian fought earlier over the IC title. Ryback eliminated Ambrose before being attacked by Reigns. Jack Swagger was No. 16. Bray Wyatt was No. 17. Things just got a little creepy. He clotheslined Reigns right away. Swagger tossed Miz over the top. Wyatt then eliminated Christian. Reigns made it three in a row by eliminating Ryback. CM Punk was No. 18. He was almost eliminated by Wyatt. Dolph Ziggler was No. 19. He and Wyatt wore down Punk. Kofi Kingston was No. 20. Wyatt hit Kofi with a spike DDT. Reigns and Swagger battled in the corner. Wyatt clotheslined Punk over the top rope.

No. 21 was Wade Barrett. Kingston kicked Reigns out of the ring. Wyatt eliminated Swagger. Wade tossed Kofi over the top, but he skinned the cat and made it back in. Curtis Axel was No. 22. Ziggler sent Wyatt packing. Antonio Cesaro was No. 23. He and Ziggler hit Barrett with a double gut buster. Jimmy Uso was No. 24. Barrett hit Cesaro with a delayed suplex. Kofi almost eliminated Ziggler. There are still two more surprise entrants. Kofi's luck ran out as he was eliminated by Barrett. Axel dropkicked Ziggler out of the ring. No. 25 was Jey Uso. Perfect timing. Barrett clotheslined Cesaro out of the ring. Axel eliminated Jimmy. He then eliminated Barrett. Chris Jericho was No. 26! The Ayatollah of Rock-n-Rolla is back! What?! Edge was No. 27. The Rated-R Superstar is here! No. 28 was Rob Van Dam. Axel had Jericho against the ropes a few times. Alberto Del Rio was No. 29. Who is number 30? Jey eliminated Edge from the corner. Del Rio eliminated Axel. Mark Henry was No. 30. He doesn't need another advantage; he's big enough. Del Rio clotheslined RVD over the top. He then eliminated Jericho.

The final three were Alberto Del Rio, Jey Uso and Mark Henry. Henry and Jey fought in the corner. Jey countered and clotheslined Henry over the top. He and Del Rio remain. Del Rio quickly went on offense and stomped on Jey. He had him in the corner and got the elimination. Alberto Del Rio will be going to WrestleMania.

Recap: That was a great Royal Rumble match. The surprises were awesome and it was decently long. The triple threat match was great as well.

Stats: Del Rio - 4 eliminations
         Ryback, Wyatt, Axel - 3 eliminations
