BACKLASH, Year 3

The first PPV of the new year.

Match 1. Justin Credible vs. Tajiri   WWF Light Heavyweight Championship
Credible landed three snap suplexes on Tajiri. He then landed a face buster and a DDT. Tajiri kicked out , but Credible was ready as he landed a piledriver to retain the title.

Match 2. Extreme Rules - The Dudleyz vs. Edge and Christian   WWF Tag Team Championship
There was a garbage can, crutch, steeps, guitar and chair laying around the arena. Christian landed a back suplex on Bubba. Bubba suplexed Christian through the announce table and, later, speared him through the barricade.The Dudleyz were bleeding by the end of the match. D-Von landed the inverted DDT on Edge to retain the titles.

Match 3. Lita vs. Victoria   WWF Women's Championship
Lita and Victoria countered each other's moves in the early going. Lita landed a back suplex and a tornado DDT. She hit another DDT before climbing the ropes and landing a huge moonsault. Lita successfully retained her title.

Match 4. Chris Jericho vs. Test   WWF Intercontinental Championship
Three title matches, three successful defenses. Can Jericho make it four? No he cannot. Test broke out of an octopus stretch and busted Jericho open with a back elbow smash. He then connected with the bicycle kick. Jericho tried fighting back, but Test was too strong. He hit a clothesline and another bicycle kick. Jericho surprised Test with the Walls of Jericho. Test broke out and hit the full nelson slam to win. DDP held Taker over his knee while Kanyon dropped an elbow to win.

Match 6. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H vs. Kurt Angle
Big Show walked down with a chair in hand.  Triple H brought the steps in. Angle busted Michaels open with a running DDT. The former DX members landed a double DDT. Angle hit Triple H with an Angle Slam. Angle landed a snap suplex and an Angle Slam on Michaels to get the win.

Main Event. Extreme Rules - Stone Cold vs. Big Show   WWF Championship
Austin and Big Show started the match in a tie-up. They tried the traditional wrestling style, but it didn't last long. There was a crutch, ladder and steel steps used. Show speared Austin, but he kicked out. After using the ladder, Austin hit the Stunner. Show caught the right hand of Austin and then landed the Showstopper on the steel steps to win.

Recap: Angle picked up a huge victory. Will anyone be able to stop Big Show's reign of terror?
