January Week 2, Year 4

With Raw having it's final solo PPV of the year, Royal Rumble is up next.

Raw

Match 1. Ric Flair and Batista vs. Tomko and Snitsky
Flair busted Tomko open with a DDT. He then focused on the leg with a single-leg Boston crab and a chop block. Tomko finally tagged in Snitsky, who worked over Batista. The match spilled to the outside. Snitsky landed a pump handle slam. Batista got up and hit him with the Batista Bomb. Back in the ring, Snitsky landed a back breaker and running boot before getting the win.

Match 2. Kane vs. Christian

Match 3. William Regal vs. Shelton Benjamin

Match 4. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy

Orton lifted Jeff up for a slam, but he countered it into a spike DDT. He then hit the Twist of Fate. Orton came back with a clothesline and a knee smash, which busted Jeff open. Jeff hit a second Twist of Fate and got the win.

After the match, Christian attacked Jeff with a lead pipe.

Main Event. Goldberg vs. Chris Jericho   #1 Contender's match

Goldberg worked over the head and neck of Y2J with snap mares and punches to the face. Goldberg then lifted Jericho up for the Jackhammer. Jericho tossed Goldberg into the corner. Goldberg came out and hit the spear to win.

After the match, Jericho and Goldberg hugged it out.

SmackDown

Match 1. Hurricane vs. Matt Hardy

Match 2. Los Guerreros vs. Dudley Boyz

Match 3. John Cena vs. Carlito

Before the match, Lesnar walked out and stood at ringside. During the match, Lesnar distracted Cena and Carlito took advantage. Carlito landed a dropkick and swinging neck breaker. He then busted Cena open with a bulldog. Cena went for the FU, but Carlito countered and hit the Back Stabber to win.

Match 4. Big Show vs. The Rock

This is Rock's first match in a couple of months. On his way to the ring, Rock was attacked by Matt Morgan. Show landed some punches. He went for a powerbomb, but Rock countered it into a DDT. Big Show speared Rock and got a one count. Rock came back with a spine buster and Rock Bottom. A minute later, he landed a huge knockout punch and won.

After the match, Show attacked Rock with a steel chair.

Main Event. Mark Henry vs. Kurt Angle vs. Undertaker

Taker and Angle went for a double suplex of Henry, but it was countered and Henry suplexed both men. Taker busted Angle open with a running knee to the face. Angle busted Henry open with a DDT. Outside the ring, Taker hit Angle with a DDT and almost won. Taker hit Henry with the Last Ride and the Tombstone. Angle hit Taker with the Angle Slam and got the win.

After the match, Undertaker raised Angle's arm in celebration.

Recap: Jericho is now a face. I wonder how Christian feels about that. Is Angle a face too?
